Project co-financed by the European Union
ECOTRAP is an innovation project developed by ENTOMO LAB, S.L. aimed at developing a smart system for the automated monitoring of insects and agricultural pests through image capture, sensors, connectivity and digital data-analysis tools.
Project objective
The project's objective is to develop a technological solution that allows field information to be obtained automatically and turned into useful data for monitoring insect populations and supporting decision-making.
The project integrates:
- Field monitoring devices.
- Automated image capture.
- Environmental sensors.
- Data communication and transmission systems.
- Backend infrastructure.
- Data management and visualisation tools.
- Automated identification and analysis systems.
Actions carried out
The project includes actions in:
- Electronic development.
- Software development.
- Backend and database architecture.
- Information transmission systems.
- Backoffice development.
- Sensor integration.
- Image capture and processing.
- Pilot trials under real conditions.
- Progressive validation of the system.
Results
The project has made it possible to advance the development of a proprietary technological architecture for automated insect monitoring.
Among the main results:
- Development of functional prototypes.
- Definition of the system's digital architecture.
- Development of the backend and management tools.
- Integration of image-capture and sensor systems.
- Rollout of pilot trials.
- Generation of field data for validating and improving the system.
Results may be updated as the project progresses.
